Professorship (W3) Sustainable Real Estate and Land Development

The following position is available at the Department of Spatial Planning at TU Dortmund University in a joint appointment procedure with the ILS – Institute for Regional and Urban Development Research (gGmbH) (starting at the earliest possible date based on the Jülich model):

The successful candidate will be appointed as a professor at TU Dortmund University and will be granted leave to the ILS – Institute for Regional and Urban Development Research (gGmbH) in Dortmund with a reduced teaching load of two semester hours per week (2 SWS). The position includes the scientific leadership of the ILS as well as its legal representation under corporate law.

Profile of the Professorship

You represent the field of real estate development and sustainable land development in research and further develop it with (inter)national visibility. In doing so, you participate in research networks and cooperations within and outside TU Dortmund University and the ILS and are committed to promoting early career researchers. In addition, you contribute appropriately to the department's teaching activities and are willing to supervise student projects.

Your Qualifications

  • Relevant doctorate with above-average success
  • Post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent qualification
  • Research excellence demonstrated through continuous national and international publications in recognized peer-reviewed venues
  • Success in acquiring third-party funding
  • Experience in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration as well as in applied research
  • Leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Management experience
  • Willingness to contribute to the implementation of equality goals
  • Potential for teaching excellence
  • Ability and willingness to teach in both English and German
  • Willingness to participate in academic self-administration
