Your Profile
You are able to represent the field of business administration with a focus on insurance management in teaching and applied research, and to teach compulsory and advanced modules at bachelor's and master's level in a well-founded, practical and didactically high-quality manner. You are involved in regional networking activities with companies in the financial services industry.
Required Professional Qualifications
- Completed university degree in economics or a related field
- Special aptitude for academic work, usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate
- At least five years of professional experience, at least three of which were gained outside the university sector. Where possible, this should include practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Private customer business
- Corporate customer business
- Controlling, risk management and compliance
- Product design and underwriting
- Digitalisation, processes and project management
- Sales and marketing
- Finance, accounting and capital investments
- Teaching aptitude and, ideally, experience in university teaching
- Ability to conduct application-oriented research
- German language skills (at least level C1) and English language skills
Desirable Additional Skills
- Training as an insurance and financial investment clerk (or insurance clerk)
- International professional experience
- Experience in acquiring and implementing third-party funded projects
- Experience in programme management and/or examination boards
- Ideally, experience in designing and implementing research projects
Expectations
The subject areas are to be represented both in teaching and in applied research. We expect very good didactical skills as well as the willingness to participate in the exchange with our international partner universities and to offer courses in English. In addition, we expect committed participation in teaching basic subjects and possibly giving lectures in related subject areas. We expect the applicant to integrate themselves well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to get involved in the academic self-administration of our university and to enjoy imparting knowledge from their own professional experience to the students. The university has a large number of collaborations with universities and research institutions such as Max Planck Institutes and Fraunhofer Institutes as well as companies. Intensifying and expanding these collaborations is highly desired. Active participation in the university's research activities is desired. In this context, we strive to increase third-party funding and the number of cooperative doctorates. We advocate a supervision concept that requires a high level of presence of the teaching staff at the university campus. Teaching language is mainly German.

This position is available from 01.03.2027 at the Zweibrücken campus of Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences at the Department of Business Administration in full time (100%).
