Position Description
We are looking for an outstanding scientist with qualifications in a current field of research in cell biology. The focus of the research is on the structure and function of eukaryotic cells or organisms (excluding vertebrates or pure cell culture systems) using modern microscopy. Possible research areas include organelle interactions, immunobiology, transport processes, or evolutionary cell biology. The scientific work combines imaging techniques with functional analyses.
The professorship is based at the Institute of Biology at the University of Kassel. Collaborations within the Institute of Biology, the "Multiscale Clocks" graduate college, the Centre of Interdisciplinary Nanostructure Research and Technology (CINSaT) or the Kassel Institute for Sustainability are desirable.
Requirements
The future job holder must demonstrate the following achievements:
- Publications in renowned scientific journals
- Acquisition of third-party funding
- Experience in leadership activities
- Solid teaching experience in cell biology or related disciplines
Candidates must have a qualified subject-related doctorate and additional scientific achievements (habilitation or equivalent achievements).
Responsibilities
The future job holder will cover the entire spectrum of cell biology for bachelor's and teacher training students, as well as advanced elective modules for master's students in biology and nanostructure sciences. The language of instruction for bachelor's and teacher training programs is German. The willingness to learn German within a reasonable period of time is required.
Participation in academic self-administration is part of the official duties.
